Intro to OSHA

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, has a mission to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. Because of OSHA, worker deaths in the United States have decreased by nearly 68% and worker injuries and illnesses have decreased 72%. However, there are still many occupational injuries and deaths every year, which makes OSHA’s mission still relevant today. This course covers why OSHA is important to workers and employers, the types of OSHA standards and how they are used, worker and employer rights and responsibilities, and other helpful worker safety and health resources.
